I’m a freelance editor (copy and structural) and writer, based, at this point in my nomadic existence, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I’m also a student, in my third year in the optional residency MFA (Master of Fine Arts) program at the University of British Columbia.
I write novels: the provisionally titled “Fraying” is a work-in-progress (and also, hopefully, my thesis) about a mountain guide trying to figure out his past, his family and himself. “The Same Deep Water As You” is in revision right now: it’s about a musician who goes missing, presumed dead, and the journalist who’s so obsessed with her he refuses to believe she’s dead, and goes on a quest to find her. And then there’s the approximately half-million words belonging to the ballad of Alex and Madeleine, which continue to lie in scattered pieces on my metaphysical floor until I find their story.
I live with a boy, a laptop, an iPod Touch and a teetering Pile (so big it deserves to be capitalized) of books to be read.
