Well, hey! All the mad novel redrafting over the last several months (hence my quietness in here — also, I discovered baseball; that’s where the summer went… curses upon you, Blue Jays!) might come to something: I just heard today that me novel has been longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Contest! Shortlist announced in January. Will try not to chew my nails off before then.
Luckily, the National Novel Writing Month, the ultimate distraction tool, starts on Tuesday, and I’ve a new novel to commit to paper! Are you in?

Congratulations backatcha, Reb! Just read a couple of your blog posts — way to go on finishing despite only getting the email on Oct 30th!! Aargh. What a nightmare. I was doing some frantic polishing over the weekend, and popped it in the post (from Canada, so it’s going to get there late, despite sending it as express as I could afford…) last night. And then I collapsed

Fingers crossed indeed! I’m so excited…I think I just spent three days so busy editing I felt like I got the news again once it had gone to the post office. I have no expectation for it, but I’ve so enjoyed being propelled to knock it into shape! What’s your about?

I’ve been wondering the same thing — I haven’t heard anything either… As someone on Twitter asked, “Do they let you know if you are on the shortlist or if you aren’t?” !!

I’m on the longlist too, and have the same email, Jan 9… though the mslexia page on the competition says something different… confusing. There are apparently 100 longlistees, I wonder how many on the shorlist?
